Special Series:
Wycombe Night Shelter is run by Wycombe Homeless Connection during January, February and March each year, and we are one of the 7 venues and 8 supporting churches.
Our sessions run on Sunday nights, and volunteers greet, cook for, serve and chat with the 10-15 pre-registered guests, alongside a member of WHC staff.
There are also ways to serve in this ministry during the week, without attending the actual sessions… shopping, washing, praying, etc.
Click here to let us know that you’d like to help outside of the Night Shelter Sessions.

Whether you are an engaged couple wanting to get your marriage off to the best possible start, or a married couple wanting to invest in your relationship, the Focus on Marriage day can help you do just that. On 30th June, we’ll be running this fun, positive, and practical day at the King’s Church using the Prepare-Enrich inventory tool to guide us.
Prepare-Enrich is the world’s leading relationship inventory tool, used by over 4 million couples across the world with decades of evidence showing how helpful it can be for couples to invest in their marriage. Developed by Christian researchers at the University of Missouri, it gives specific, positive and confidential feedback on various aspects of your relationship.
This is how it works: Once you sign up for the day, an on-line questionnaire will be sent to eachof you for you to fill in beforehand. This will take around 40-45 minutes. It need to be completed before the day in order to be processed so as to allow as much time as possible during the day for exploring the results.
Then, on the Focus on Marriage day on 30th June, each couple will be given a report, based on the answers they provided in their questionnaire, which shows the strength and growth areas of their own relationship. During the day:
- You will gain a fuller understanding of the strengths within your relationship on which you can build and also any areas where growth is still needed.
- You will be guided through a number of exercises to help you focus on different aspects of your unique relationship.
- You will be helped to practise important communication and conflict resolution skills.
The cost of this day is £30 per couple, which covers the costs of analysis and scoring. Lunch and refreshments will also be provided.
Prepare-Enrich is a great tool for giving the two of you a chance to explore and talk through your relationship, and give it the time and investment it deserves. We’re confident that this will be a really interesting and informative day for you both, as well as being a great opportunity to spend time focusing on each other
Please book your place by 17th June to allow for the processing of your questionnaire (click to go to booking page)
As a duty of care to the children, youth and vulnerable adults of King’s Church High Wycombe, and also to the Leaders and Helpers working with them, we have an application process to complete, in accordance with our Safeguarding Policy, before anyone begins working with them.

These will be taken up unless a Serving Team Leader or Small Group Leader at King’s has known you for at least 2 years.

WHO ARE THEY FOR?
Dedications are for children, normally those under three, primarily whose parents are members of the King’s Church.
If you are not a member of King’s Church, but are already a part of the life of King’s Church High Wycombe in another way, for instance, already in a Small Group or Serving Team, and would like to have your child dedicated, then please get in touch and we’ll arrange to chat with you further about whether this could still be available.
WHAT HAPPENS?
Dedications are an opportunity to give thanks to God for the gift of our children. Dedications take place during the main Sunday morning meetings. During the dedication part of the meeting, we give opportunity to express our gratitude to God for our children, to pray for God’s blessing on our children and also to pray for the parents and wider family. Furthermore, we make space for the members of the church to stand alongside the families whose children are being dedicated to demonstrate their desire to provide practical and spiritual support for those being dedicated and their families. You can see the promises made by everyone here and, speaking of church members, we will ask you to choose and ask one or two people who are members of King’s Church High Wycombe to stand alongside you on the morning. This need not involve any commitment after the day, but they will hold onto and present to you the Bible and gift we want to give to your child, and will lead by example when the church family are asked to pray out together for you and your child.
WHAT ABOUT CHRISTENING OR WATER BAPTISM?
We believe strongly in the New Testament principle of water baptism for those who have already made a commitment to follow Jesus as Lord and Saviour. We also believe that each individual should make that decision for themselves personally and therefore we do not practise christening or water baptism for young children. If you would like to know more, we run a course for those who would like to explore baptism separately.
WHEN WILL THEY TAKE PLACE?
We are currently having Dedications on the same Sunday Mornings as Baptisms, two different but very important celebrations and giving the opportunity to further explain and show what happens when an individual makes a commitment to follow Jesus as Lord and Saviour. Click here to see a previous Dedications and Baptisms meeting. There are 3 of these Sundays each year and we can let you know the next planned date when you contact us. We would normally expect the dedications to last 10-15 minutes, although this will depend on the numbers of children being dedicated.
WHAT IF I WANT TO HAVE MY CHILD DEDICATED OR WANT TO KNOW MORE?
