Our story goes back nearly 60 years.
Our beginnings are back in 1967, when a group of young families moved to the area, and started a Bible study in the living room of one of their homes. They began meeting on Sundays, and one by one, they were filled with the Spirit, experiencing a deep delight in Jesus and a deep joy in community.
Over time, things have grown, steadily and slowly. Strong foundations have been built. Living rooms became school halls became our own church building in the centre of our town. We’ve welcomed hundreds of people, with all sorts of stories. We’ve seen lots of people come to faith, or come back to Jesus.
We’ve grown not just in number, but in diversity. We’re now a rich, diverse family of people, from all kinds of backgrounds, learning what it means to be ‘all in’ for Jesus, ‘all in’ for one another, ‘all in’ for the vision God has given us. As we listen to the Spirit, we’re learning new ways to love the people beyond our walls.
Over the years, by the grace and faithfulness of God, the church has grown and changed – but much remains the same. We still delight in understanding we’re kids of the Father. We still prioritise worshipping and speaking about Jesus. We still long for more of the presence of the Spirit.
And we believe the best stories are still to be written.
OUR VISION
We believe God has given us a picture of a beautiful future for our church and our town. Our vision is to be: a diverse church of thousands that surrounds and saturates High Wycombe with the love of Jesus.
- We’re called to pursue diversity. We’re a diverse family ethnically, with people from many different nations. And we’re increasingly diverse in other ways, too: male and female, rich and poor, married and single.
- We’re called to grow. It’s a part of our DNA – a Spirit-birthed desire that goes right back to our beginnings. A desire to see many people saved, healed, set-free, and touched by the love of Jesus.
- And we’re called to Wycombe. God loves our town! And he calls us to love it too, through personal outreach and Gospel-centred works that reach out with the love of Jesus.
OUR MISSION
‘Ordinary people changed by Jesus to change the world’. This mission statement describes who we are, and what we exist to see. It’s the heartbeat behind everything we do.
We’re ‘ordinary people’, from all kinds of backgrounds; each with a story of brokenness, each of us dependent on the grace of God. We’re on an ongoing journey of transformation – being ‘changed by Jesus’, in community with others. And as the Spirit works in us, we ‘change the world’; impacting communities, and bringing kingdom influence to the places we go.
OUR CONVICTIONS

We’re Spirit-led, placing emphasis on the Holy Spirit to reveal Jesus to us, to fill us and transform us – and longing for more of his presence in our lives. And we believe in baptism in water, by full immersion, when people come to faith – seeing it as an exciting, powerful and foundational step for every follower of Jesus.
WHAT WE’RE PART OF
We’re part of Catalyst – a family of hundreds of churches in the UK, Europe, Africa and Asia. Catalyst is an apostolic movement, starting and strengthening churches that multiply disciples, to see God’s kingdom fill the earth.
