Read Luke 10:38-42

As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what he said. But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!” “Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, but few things are needed—or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.”’

  • Where do you have the choice to sit at Jesus’ feet?
  • What does rest look like for you in this moment?
  • How can you prioritise God’s presence today?

Praying for Newday

This year we are taking 62 young people from King’s church to join with over 1000 other teenagers at a you camp called Newday.

  • Pray that young people encounter God, and grow in their relationship with him. For some this may mean giving their lives to Jesus for the first time
  • Pray for safety and protection on site
  • Pray for unity, God’s presence and peace on our camp
  • Pray for lives to be transformed, that the youth come home from Newday equipped and stirred up to follow Jesus

Pray for our youth

Prayer points for young people from King’s Church:

  • Pray that our young people grow closer to God in all they do.
  • Pray for our team members, that God equips them and fills them with his spirit, that they also grow closer to him through serving the youth
  • That God meets our young people and equips them with the Holy Spirit
  • That our young people realise their gifting and leadership skills, and begin to put them in place in their schools, Christian Unions, and clubs
  • That our young people grow to be leaders filled with integrity and Godly character, pursuing him in all they do.

Pray for those on your BLESS lists

Pray for those who don’t yet know Jesus. Who has God placed alongside you to speak to, pray for and encourage?

  • Pray for their lives to be transformed by Jesus.

This may be a good opportunity for you to revisit your list and consider who you can continually pray for!

Pray for Sunday

  • For Mark, Katie and some of our youth, as they lead us in worship.
  • For Ade as he bring God’s word.
  • For Ayo as he leads the meeting.
  • For our serving teams and children’s ministries.
  • That every new person feels welcome and encounters God.
