HOPE THROUGH THE SPIRIT

Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God.  3 Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; 4 perseverance, character; and character, hope. 5 And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us. Romans 5:1-5

  • How hopeful do you feel, about the present, about the future? Ask God to give you fresh hope, through the Spirit.

FRESH HOPE, FOR THOSE ON ALPHA & CHAPTERS

Let’s pray for those in the church building tonight to experience fresh hope

  • For those on Alpha: that the truth of who Jesus is, and what he has done for them – would become experienced reality. And that decisions would be made tonight for Jesus.
  • That those on the Chapters prayer experience would be filled afresh with the Holy Spirit.
  • That hope would break out in the building…!

HOPE & ASSURANCE THROUGH OUR SUNDAY MEETINGS

Let’s pray for this Sunday’s meetings:

  • For Ron, preaching on ‘the assurance of the Spirit’
  • For all those serving, including Mark & Katie and the band leading worship, Rich H & Amy F leading the meetings, and all our serving teams
  • That, as we pray for people, God would pour out his love on them; that hearts would be softened, lives would be changed, hope would be restored.

HOPE, FOR THOSE GOD HAS PLACED IN OUR LIVES

Let’s pray for those on our BLESS lists:

  • Who has God placed in your life – neighbours, friends, colleagues, family members – who don’t yet know the love of God and the hope of the Gospel? Share the names of one or two people.
  • Pray for them together – that, through the Holy Spirit, God would open their eyes to who he is
  • And pray for opportunities and boldness to share something of the love of God with them this week

HOPE FOR OUR TOWN & BEYOND

Pause and dream… what would a fresh move of the Spirit truly look like for our church and our town?

  • Pray for an outpouring of the Spirit that drenches the church and impacts our town
  • Pray for our outreach ministries that demonstrate the love of Jesus.
  • Ask the Father that his river would flow… flooding the town with grace and mercy and love and salvation
