FILLING

 

Ephesians 3:14-19

14 For this reason I kneel before the Father, 15 from whom every family[a] in heaven and on earth derives its name. 16 I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, 18 may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, 19 and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.

 

Ephesians 5:18-21

18 Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit, 19 speaking to one another with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit. Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord, 20 always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

 

Response to Devotional Reading:

  • Ask the Holy Spirit to fill you afresh today.
  • Name one person or place that needs the life of God. Pray for them specifically, with expectation.
  • Ask God to make you attentive and available to his leading.

 

Today’s Pray Points:

  • For a new church building, giving us space to serve our ministries, to grow, and to reach more people with the love of Jesus. Pray God would show us where to look, open doors, and that he would provide miraculously.
  • That we’d become a resource church– an exceedingly generous church that resources kingdom advance beyond our walls, our borders and our generations. Pray God would lead us on a journey of faith that sees the kingdom break in, and that brings us new depths of joy as we give.

 

Prayer for Sunday Morning:

  • Pray for Simon Holley as he prepares and delivers the Word – That he would speak from fresh revelation of God’s heart, with clarity, authority, and grace. Protection over him in mind, body, and spirit.
  • Pray for Rich Horne and Elizabeth Fewkes as they lead the service – That they would lead from a place of rest, not pressure, sensitive to the Spirit, and responsive to what God is doing in the room.
  • Pray for everyone serving – That we would serve from overflow, not emptiness, with fresh anointing, joy, and grace for every role.
  • Pray for our gatherings as a whole – That we would experience the manifest presence of God – not just structure, but encounter. Salvation, healing, deliverance, and a deep awareness that God is near.

 

Pray for Filling:

  • For a fresh outpouring of the Spirit on the church, equipping us and empowering us to love one another and to reach out to the lost.
  • That our church family would be marked by unity, that where the enemy seeks to bring disunity and disruption, we’d pursue love and togetherness.
  • That we’d be a church family where everyone plays their part, using the diversity of gifts God has given us.
  • For the spaces where we meet together outside of Sunday mornings, like our small groups – that these would be places of love and encouragement, where disciples are made and trained.
  • That we’d devote ourselves to Jesus, to the word, to prayer and to reaching out – and that we’d be known for our counter-cultural, gospel-centred generosity

 

Lift a final prayer of thanksgiving — not because everything is resolved, but because God is near, and He hears us!
