By 1 January 2023April 9th, 2024No Comments

Wednesday 10 April

Start by considering where you have been seeing God at work over the last couple of weeks? What encouragements have you seen in your life or in the lives of others/in the church? Do you have any BLESS stories?

  • Spend some time thanking God for what He is doing, and then reflect on the scripture below and continue to bring your thanksgiving and worship to God…

Romans 8:31-39
…If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?…  Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?… No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Read and reflect on Ephesians 4:1-8 & 11-16. This passage contains 4 ‘keys’ to unity in the church (listen to the preach from 1 October):

  • Humility (v1-3)
  • Focussing on the big things that unite us, rather than magnifying the small things that can divide (v3-6)
  • Everybody playing their part, using the diversity of gifts God has given (v7-8, 11-13, 16)
  • Maturity/speaking the truth in love (v13-15)

Pray for the unity of the church as you feel the Lord leads you

Please pray about the following areas of church life:

  • PRESENCE OF GOD – the life-changing presence of God whenever we meet together
  • SALVATION – more salvations and baptisms as we continue to BLESS people
  • DISCIPLESHIP –  that we would be a people learning together and training others in how to follow Jesus – disciples making disciples and leaders being raised
  • RESOURCES FOR THE MISSION – continued and increasing provision of finance and people
  • NATURALLY SUPERNATURAL – a growing excitement at the adventure of following Jesus and bringing the kingdom, increased faith and courage, increase in healing, outpouring of the Holy Spirit…
  • CHURCH AS FAMILY – a place of unity, love, care and belonging for all, strong small groups and deepening community
  • LEADERS & STAFF TEAM – wisdom and Holy Spirit power for the Elders as they seek the way ahead, and for the staff team as they lead various ministries and seek to equip the saints for the work of ministry
  • GOSPEL IMPACT – for God’s kingdom to come in our town through our outreach ministries, healing, hope and salvation through the gospel for those who are broken and in despair
  • VISION – to become a diverse church of thousands that surrounds and saturates High Wycombe with the love of Jesus
