Wednesday 21 January
Read the first couple of stanzas from ‘How Great Thou Art’
O Lord my God, when I in awesome wonder
Consider all the works Thy hands have made,
I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder,
Thy power thru-out the universe displayed!
Then sings my soul, my Saviour God, to Thee;
How great Thou art, how great Thou art!
Then sings my soul, my Saviour God, to Thee;
How great Thou art, how great Thou art!
- Reflect on these words.
- Where have you seen God’s greatness in the world or in your life?
- We might not always feel like worshipping, but we worship because of
WHO GOD IS not what we feel.
Pray for the nation:
- God’s kingdom to come in the political situations
- The church in this country to be blessed
- Miracles and answers to prayer
- Freedom from oppression, slavery and injustice
Lift up our town and surrounding areas:
- The churches in this town to be strengthened and blessed
- God to move in the schools and universities of this town
- God to move in the ministries and organisations that bless the town (Chosen, Learning English, Little Stars, BLESS Adventures)
- People to know the love of Jesus that surrounds and saturates this town – pray to be equipped by the Holy Spirit that we may also be a blessing to those around us by sharing Jesus’ love.
Pray for our lives and our Church:
- Who has God placed in your life to bless?
- Where can you pray for the Kingdom to come?
- Pray for an outpouring of the spirit over our church, that we grow deeper in prayer.
- Pray for our leaders:
- for John and his family in this difficult time.
- for Rich H and Ruth as they lead the church.
- for God’s peace and blessing to be on all of them.
Pray for our Sunday meetings:
- For our Sunday meetings: let’s pray for Ayo and Katie as they lead the service; for Seyi as he preaches; and for Simon as he leads worship.
- Pray for King’s Kids to know and encounter Jesus, and to understand what he has done for them.
- Pray also for all of our serving teams, that they will be blessed as they serve and make Sunday happen.
