Intercession
“Your Kingdom come”
1. Praise and Worship (5 mins)
Praise God that His Kingdom is expanding throughout the world even now. Thank Him that every small thing we do in His name brings the Kingdom of God closer. Thank Him that through His free gift of salvation you are now a part of His Kingdom.

2. Confession (5 mins)
Confess anything that comes to mind. This will enable you to pray without anything coming between you and God.
3. Praying Scripture (5 mins)
Take some time to read through the following scripture.
Mark 4:26-29
He also said, “This is what the kingdom of God is like. A man scatters seed on the ground. Night and day, whether he sleeps or gets up, the seed sprouts and grows, though he does not know how. All by itself the soil produces grain-first the stalk, then the head, then the full kernel in the head. As soon as the grain is ripe, he puts the sickle to it, because the harvest has come.”
Spend some time reading this scripture and the think about the images used within it. Imagine the farmer scattering seed and the process of the seed growing. Picture the gradual growth. Rejoice in the eventual harvest. Ask God to show you how He is doing this in those around you.

4. Waiting on the Lord (5 mins)
Take some time to still your thoughts and sit before the Lord in silence. Ask him to speak to you through this passage. 5 minutes might seem a long time but wait it out!
5. Personal Intercession (5 mins)
We are responsible for sowing seed but God brings the harvest. Pray today for each person on your BLESS list (a BLESS list is a list of names of people special to you who don’t know Jesus personally), asking God to save them. Pray that you will know how to sow the seed of God’s word in their lives.
6. Intercede for our church ministries (5 mins)
For our church: Pray for our worship team: inspiration, encouragement, appreciation and togetherness. Thank God for them. Pray for our small group and ministry team leaders: that they would love leading their groups and teams this term, be taken aback by the unexpected and glorious kindnesses of the Holy Spirit and from those they are serving, and that our small groups would be places of powerful community and encounter with the Holy Spirit.

7. Intercede for our local area (5 mins)
Pray for the Kingdom to come in our town. Pray for tangible fruit of the Kingdom to be seen as we seek to bless those around us practically and as we share the good news of Jesus. Pray for the church to be a light in the town and for us all to be lights in our local communities .
Pray for our King’s Table work amongst the homeless and those struggling with life-controlling addiction:
- pray for powerful encounters between our guests and the Holy Spirit,
- pray for everyone’s safety,
- pray for salvation and that we would disciple our guests excellently.
8. Intercede for the nations (5 mins)
Pray for the many nations that are on our doorstep here in High Wycombe. Pray that those who come here as refugees and asylum seekers from difficult situations that they would find hope in the church. Pray for international students to encounter Jesus here. Pray for those who have moved here for work and seeking a better life to find life in all its fullness through Jesus
9. Thanksgiving (5 mins)
Thank God for the way you yourself came to Christ. Remember how you first met him whether that was early or later in life. Thank Him for those that shared the gospel with you and those who have helped you in your journey.
10. Listening (5 mins)
Ask God what He has to say to you. Then ask God for something you can do this week to bring the Kingdom of God into the life of someone who’s on your BLESS list.
11. Praise (5 mins)
We started with praise and we end with praise. Thank God for speaking to you today. Thank Him for His scriptures and the many other ways He speaks to us. Thank Him that He is a God who draws near to us and who loves to spend time with us in prayer.
12. Reflection (5 mins)
Finish by writing down anything that God has spoken to you. Reflect on what he has said and ask if there is anything that you need to do in response.
